Why Lydia exists
Live music is awesome. Outside of a few “music towns” it’s hard to come by. Most of it happens only on a Friday or Saturday night at an established venue with high barriers to entry for local musicians.
Why can’t music be heard on a Tuesday evening at a cafe in every neighborhood, or a Sunday morning at a coffee shop? Why aren’t there more bands everywhere playing private parties, or local events? Why didn’t I hear about that show I totally would have gone to last weekend, but just found out about today? Why don’t I jam with other casual musicians on a weekly basis?
I think all of these questions point to a networking problem. And that’s what I’m aiming to solve with Lydia. By connecting music lovers, players, and the people who would love to host it together in one place, Columbus - and any town for that matter - could become a place where music and culture really flourish.
